Parent Comments: Hi, I am looking for a 1:1 Secondary English tutor for my daughter, Gwen, who is currently in Sec 3 and taking G2 English. She hopes to move to G3 English. She is currently scoring in the mid-60s for G2 English and is stronger in G3 EMaths/Amaths and G3 Science. Her goal is to cope with G3 English and work towards at least a D7 pass standard for G3/O-Level English, as this is important for her polytechnic engineering pathway. We are looking for a tutor who has experience teaching Sec 3/Sec 4 English, O-Level English, or helping students bridge from G2/N(A) to G3/Express English. The school has highlighted that if she can achieve 75% at the end of Sec 3, they will consider moving to G3 English in Sec 4 Could you recommend a suitable teacher who can: Conduct a diagnostic assessment Identify her gaps in comprehension, writing and oral Provide a focused 8–12 week improvement plan Mark weekly writing/comprehension work Give us a short view on whether she is ready to attempt G3 English with support and how to bring her to G3 English This is quite important to her confidence, so we are looking for someone encouraging but also exam-focused.
